It is exciting to see that the children are very engaged, and how they can now use their classroom and environment so independently.
In this blog there are photos of free inquiry, a lovely hug for Nayra to say welcome back! and photos of our small group activities.
We continue our inquiry into
- Light and dark
- Celebrations
- New math's focus:- shape and space
- Numeracy - ongoing
A big hug for Nayra!
The children decided to use the large envelopes to send messages to each other.
They needed to see their names on their name cards. Some of the children tried writing the names of their friends.
We have started talking about shape as our new Math's focus. The children have started experimenting with shape mobiles. They are using a combination of collage and colouring.
Here we are combining our thinking about shapes, materials and how light can pass through a material or not.
The new word of the week is 'TRANSPARENT'.
This group are making surveys to ask the question 'how many layers are you wearing today?'. The new word for some children (and some adults!) is 'LAYERS'.
This group are learning how to play dominoes, matching pictures, numerals and involving some strategies!
