Explaining shadows

We have been taking a closer look at shadows and had a serious brainstrorm about thinking about 'How a shadow actually works'....

Today we went outside at 9:30 a.m.

Our plan is to observe how our shadows change in the day and see if we can explain what makes it change. We are all getting the idea that for a shadow to happen there needs to be block to the source of light.

So there's the block! And it is completely blocking the sunlight so we cannot see our own shadows here.
Now we can make some cool shadow shapes....

We are going to look for some artists and see how they use light...

.Sadly everyone was away as seniors have their week without walls! we looked into the Black Box - Mr. Lawrence's drama room instead!

And here on the door we found some shadow puppets - we want to find out more about them and how can use them or make them ourselves...
